1. Who we are

SnowGlobeGo ("we," "us") is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME, pending Stripe Atlas incorporation], [ADDRESS]. This policy explains what information we collect when you send or receive a SnowGlobeGo gift, and why.

2. What we collect

  • From the sender: who the gift is for and the figure you choose, your name (if you send anonymously, the recipient sees "Secret admirer" instead), your message (up to 100 characters), an optional photo, and an optional 15-second voice recording.
  • Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details; Stripe shares with us only what is needed to confirm your payment (e.g., an order reference) and, if you provide it at checkout, an email address for your receipt. We do not otherwise ask for or store your email.
  • From the recipient: nothing is required to open a gift. If the recipient adds the gift to their home screen, their device stores a small web-app icon and a link containing a unique access key — this is not sent back to us as an account record.
  • Automatically: basic technical data needed to serve the page (e.g., device type, browser, approximate location derived from IP address) for security, fraud prevention, language selection, and regional feature restrictions (see Section 4).
  • On your device (draft): while you create a gift, what you enter (your choices, photo, message, and voice recording) is saved only in your browser, so you can pick up where you left off even if you close the tab. This draft is not sent to us; it is deleted after 30 days, or sooner if you clear your browser's site data.

3. Why we collect it

  • To create and deliver the gift you're sending (contract performance).
  • To secure the single-recipient lock mechanic and prevent abuse or fraud (legitimate interest).
  • To screen uploaded photos for illegal or unsafe content before they can be viewed (legitimate interest / legal compliance).
  • Where required, on the basis of your consent (see Section 4 for voice notes).

4. Voice notes: an important note on sensitive data

Your voice recording is stored only so it can be played back to the recipient. We do not analyze it, convert it into a "voiceprint," or use it to identify you — it is treated the same as any other audio file you choose to upload.

That said, a small number of jurisdictions regulate voice recordings as biometric or sensitive data even when they're not used for identification. Out of caution, the voice-note feature is currently not available to senders located in Illinois, Texas, or Washington (United States), pending further legal confirmation. If you are in one of these locations, you can still send a gift with a photo and written message. We may adjust this list as our legal review continues.

5. Photo moderation

Every uploaded photo is automatically screened for prohibited content before the gift becomes viewable. This scan is automated; we do not manually review photos unless a gift is reported (see Section 9).

6. How long we keep your data

Your gift — including the photo, message, and voice note — is kept for as long as SnowGlobeGo operates, so the link keeps working. We remove content only if: (a) it is reported and found to violate our Terms of Service, (b) the related payment is charged back or disputed, or (c) you ask us to remove it and we are able to identify the specific gift (see Section 9).

7. Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers to run SnowGlobeGo:

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Vercel — website hosting.
  • [Supabase] — application database (gift records, access keys).
  • [Cloudflare R2] — photo and voice-note file storage.
  • [Sightengine / Google Cloud Vision — TBD] — automated photo moderation.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising beyond the cookie-based analytics disclosed in our Cookie Policy.

8. International data transfers

SnowGlobeGo is a global service. Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for these transfers. [Finalize transfer mechanism once hosting/vendor regions are confirmed.]

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Because we don't require accounts, the fastest way to exercise these rights for a specific gift is the "Report this gift" link shown on that gift's page, or by contacting us at [privacy@snowglobego.com]. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (e.g., 30 days under GDPR/KVKK).

10. Anonymous ("Secret admirer") gifts

Choosing to hide your name from the recipient does not make your gift anonymous to us — we retain the sender's identity and payment information internally for fraud prevention and legal compliance, even when the recipient only sees "Secret admirer."

11. Children

SnowGlobeGo is not directed at children, and purchasing a gift requires you to be an adult (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), consistent with our payment provider's requirements. If a gift's photo or voice recording involves a child, the submitting adult is responsible for having the right to share that content.

12. Cookies

We use a cookie consent banner for visitors in the EU/EEA, primarily related to advertising measurement (e.g., Meta/Google). Details are in our separate Cookie Policy.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
